Green Bag Lady

Green Bag Lady is an eco-friendly art project started by artist Teresa VanHatten-Granath in 2008 and her goal is to reduce (if not eliminate) plastic shopping bags. She gives away one free bag to anyone who promises to stop using plastic bags. Additionally, her site and blog serves as a portal for helpful information and patterns to make your fabric bag. The goal of this site was to organize the large amount of information currently on the site, while keeping it from feeling static. An interactive map, plastic bag counter, and RSS feeds keeps the site fresh, while the texture resembles the handmade nature of the project.
